Description:

The Dean is a mixed-use development on San Antonio Road in Mountain View with four separate apartment structures, all supported by a shared deep basement.

Two of the superstructures are five-stories of wood framing while the other two include two-stories of concrete construction above the street level with five-stories of wood framing above.  The street level includes  beautifully landscaped courtyards and walkways between each of the buildings including pools, spas, fire pits, and BBQ areas.  A unique feature of this project is an elevated pool vault with acrylic sides providing a side view of the water from levels below.  Total street level podium area is over 180,000 SF and supports 583 residential units within the various superstructures.

The structural systems for this building consist of wood framed superstructures, supported by a concrete podium structure which includes concrete post-tensioned slabs, concrete shearwalls and columns supported on a mat foundation.
